THE BENEFITS OF HUMIDITY AND CLEAN AIR
WHOLE HOME HUMIDIFIERS
Whole home humidifiers help maintain healthy levels of humidity in your home.
During the winter, some homes humidity levels can be drier than many deserts. Indoor air, especially in the winter, can have humidity levels around 10 percent, but the ideal humidity level for your home is approximately 30-40 percent.
Healthy humidity levels help promote maximum home comfort and may enhance your family’s overall health. With a whole-home humidifier, you can raise the humidity levels in your home, helping you breathe easier, and making your home feel warmer.
Physicians and other experts often recommend humidity control to prevent the damaging effects of dry air caused by low relative humidity. Low humidity may cause increased susceptibility to colds and respiratory illness, and can allow viruses and germs to thrive.
Your home may have low humidity levels if you are experiencing any of the following: dry eyes, hair, skin, and nostrils, frequent sore throats, chronic allergy symptoms, static shocks, hardwood floors or furnishings cracking, electronics damage.
When humidity levels drop, the ambient air feels cooler than more humid environments, and we turn up the heat to compensate.
When you maintain a higher humidity level in your home, it feels warmer. When you increase the humidity, you can decrease your temperature setting and save energy!
A whole house humidifier is added to a furnace, and vapor is distributed directly into the heated air and circulated throughout the house via the furnace duct system. The system requires a cold water connection and room for the humidifier unit. Humidity levels are controlled via a humidistat and the method has the greatest humidification capacity and is most consistent.
ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANERS
An electronic air cleaner can be one of the best things you add to your home heating and cooling system. It uses innovative technology to filter out even the smallest particles from your indoor air.
Electronic air cleaners removes airborne contaminants such as dust, mites, pet dander, household chemicals, pollen, mold, bacteria, viruses, pet dander, tobacco smoke particles, cooking smoke and grease and more. The most common signs of poor indoor air quality are unexplained health problems, bad smells, dirty air filters or ductwork, and high utility bills.
Electronic Air Cleaners remove airborne contaminates through the principle of electrostatic precipitation. The friendly cleansing ions treat your indoor air by suppressing bacteria growth, suppressing mold growth, suppressing viruses and reducing odors.
Remember: The importance of changing your HVAC system air filters frequently! Check your air filter once per month and change it when it gets dirty. If you have allergies or other health problems, change your filter more often and clean your home regularly to improve your indoor air quality. A clean air filter keeps debris from affecting your heater or air conditioner, which can prevent costly breakdowns and repairs.
